At present, it conducts two academic programs –one being HS level integrated program namely Hadiya and another being diploma in Islamic sciences.

Academy of Women for Islamic Studies MARKAZ AWIS was launched by Jamia Markaz in 2013 as an exclusive academic body that oversees the higher education of female students through various courses and programs specifically designed for them. Situated in the main campus of Jamia Markaz, Kozhikode, India the office of MARKAZ AWIS acts as a supreme academic body for 133 affiliated institutes spread across different parts of South Indian states.

In its academic and related activities, AWIS represents the Islamic Philosophy of Education- Seeking knowledge is compulsory upon all Muslim men and women. Hence, it particularly attempts to champion the causes of enlightening the growing community of women with what they need in this rapidly-changing world in order to transform the society they live in. In the process, it holds aloft the value of Adab (Discipline/Decorum), one of the salient features of Islamic Epistemology, and the consequent ethical behaviors to have imbibed in the students. AWIS is much convinced of the profound meanings of the principle- ‘Whether the knowledgeable (women) and those who are not thus are equal’. It implies the powerfulness of the former to make a big difference in the current course of society.
The idea of MARKAZ AWIS has been propounded by the visionary leadership of Markaz Academic Council with the aim of championing various causes of female Muslim scholarship. Our academic body for curriculum designing and includes a team of faculties from Jamia Markaz and some subject experts from the outside, who have been experts in classical Islamic sciences and various branches of modem academic disciplines and their teaching methods with their 10 years-long rigorous study and subsequent research in the specific subjects. We highly recommend having a host of teaching faculty, who are female scholars graduated in different branches of Islamic and secular sciences. MARKAZ AWIS train them in regular periods as per the modules of the vision set by the Academic Body.

The department of administration leads the day to day activities of MARKAZ AWIS. It manages and facilitates the regular functioning of other three departments in the organization. It helps other departments to meet their expectations and execute things as per the monthly and yearly plans.

From scheduling and question paper preparation to evaluation and result publication, every stage is meticulously handled to uphold academic integrity. The department also evaluates applications from external institutions seeking affiliation for Hadiya courses and communicates the outcomes after careful review.
